National Youth Day, also known as Vivekananda Jayanti, is celebrated annually on 12 January, since 1985

National Youth Day is celebrated on 12th January in India, marking the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The day was celebrated since 1985 to inspire youth. Swami Vivekananda, born Narendranath Datta, was a disciple of   Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. He is famous for his speech at the World's Parliament of Religions in 1893, where he represented India and Hinduism.

The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025, organized by the Department of Youth Affairs, took place at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from January 10, 2025. Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya led the event, which focused on youth leadership and development.
